I had never heard of it until I was diagnosed. I read it affects 1-2% of women. But it seems pretty common. I was lucky and my dr noticed it this is my first baby. Its quite scary cause there is no way of knowing. I kept feeling pressure that was my indication that something was wrong.
I never knew this was so common. .my best friend lost 3 babies before a doctor decided to give her a cerclage
I have one. It's a stich to keep cervix closed to hold baby to full term so cervix don't dilate early and miscarriage.
They have a high success rate and are used for incompetent cervix. Since I have this I will have to have a cerclage for every preg bc my cervix won't hold baby in after 20 weeks. I was very lucky to find out with my first baby.
Its a stitch to keep the cervix closed so you don't goiinto labor too early. I had one put in at 18 weeks. Had it taken out a few days ago im almost 37 weeks.
