I too am of Caribbean descent and mostly eat home cooked meals, lots of legumes, wheat, vegrtable stews which is why I didn't see a need to adjust what I eat. I've never been a juice/soda/sweets eater so water has always been my thing.

The OB says most women dont loose all their baby weight and then get pregnant again, more weight pile up. I am of island decent and cook home cooked meals, I dont do mcdonalds, kfc, burger king, etc. I eat veggies, fruits, tons of water everyday. So I know my baby is healthy. Even the milk I drink has no fat in it.

For me sweating without getting my heart rate above 160 and getting overheated is what did it. Drinking water alone didn't do it for me. Best bet is going on YouTube and looking up at home aerobic exercises that are pregnancy safe since going outside to walk isn't an option .

When I gained four lbs too much (I know that's not the same) I got a reality check that I was not eating the most healthy for the baby. I started walking to work. If its too hot, like you say, pick a place like the mall with long air conditioned paths and walk everyday. You really shouldn't stop the amount you are eating, because baby needs that. I did however switch to wheat bread and cut the sugar to once a day if that, etc. Since then weight gain has been a lb a week like its supposed to. Your ob gets on you because she is concerned that the baby is getting proper nutrition and not junk. I said "for the most part I eat healthy" too but I wasn't being honest with myself. Maybe that's not the case with you though.

I used to go to the gym but I let the account go in default. Are there any safe detox or actually water that can flush water weight. More water less water weight. I already drink so much water.

I felt the same and have been going to the gym since it would be too hot to walk outside. I speed walked on the treadmill & do some light weight training to maintain muscle tone. Since we can't diet being pregnant, power walking, keeping myself super hydrated has helped me lose some unnecessary water weight even my husband noticed & my M.D. did an amniotic fluid check yesterday and everything was normal so the extra water weight lost doesn't seem to be impacting my baby.

Its so hot where I live that when I do have the time to walk...... I dread catching a heat stroke out there. I do make healthier choices for the most part.

Dont worry about it thats stress you dont need while pregnant . My sister gained 60 lbs while pregnant and after 5 months she could fit back into her regular jeans. It will come off easier the you think for now just enjoy being pregnant be happy you can stress later about that ;-)

You don't want to start dieting. But you could start walking a half hour daily. Then jessy watch what you are eating.  Make healthy choices,  drink more water, lots of fruits and veggies; protien keeps you fuller longer- nuts, beans and legumes. And don't worry, the weight will come off after you have the baby. But don't pressure yourself.  It takes a little time and effort. You'll be fine and I bet you're beautiful mama:)
