So I was having mild cramping towards the top of my belly yesterday, could these be BH?
I have them all the time related to stress. They hurt me because they tighten and put pressure on my ribs and make my skin feel really stretched. Drink a lot of water and put your feet up. They definitely feel different than contractions though.
Me too on my last pregnancy i was getting them since I was 5 months doctor said was "normal" so I was like ok , thn at a doctors visit she noticed it was very consistent and were actual contractions this time I was bout 32wks I was put on bedrest and had my daughter at 36wks, I'm 16wks and hv been having them since last month doctor wanted to put me on bedrest already but Im holding it off jus keeping an eye on them if thy get consistant I will stop working so ask ur doctor and take dwn notes if thy don't go away after u eat, drinked water, used the restroom or rest and thy don't go away call ur doc asap
I started getting them consistently at 31 weeks. Wasn't sure what they were at the time.
Anyone get them all the time? I've been getting them for 3 days straight ranging from 2 per hour to 5 per hour. Drinking tons of water and have an apt fri am to discuss this with my dr. What do you guys think?
I think I had my first one yesterday. Went for a walk and felt an intense pain in my lower stomack.. Kinda like during period but was sudden and lasted for about a minute.
I just stopped and kneeled down a bit. Then started walking and it passed..
I didn't get any with my first (that I noticed), started at 20 wks with second, then 9 wks with 3rd...
Braxton Hicks actually happen from around 8 weeks but the mother may not feel them until much later. They assist in so many different things throughout pregnancy. In late pregnancy mine get pretty bad. I'm 10 weeks now and already feeling them
Braxton Hicks shouldn't start until you are at least 30 weeks or so. Cause that means your baby is turning around to prepare for labour. 17 weeks is extremely early. I suggest talking with your doctor
Thank you ladies. It is very useful!
Some women don't notice them at all during their pregnancy.. Some family members didn't even know what they were until I told them I was getting them.. I started noticing them at around 19 weeks.. Maybe sooner... But braxton Hicks can go unnoticed since the first trimester... It just feels like a tightening in the uterus with no pain lasting less than a minute... I'm 34 weeks and now they are starting to come with mild period like cramping and definitely get them more often!
I'm on my 3rd baby and I'm 31 weeks now, didn't experience or maybe just didn't notice them with my other 2 but this time they're really annoying me lol, ur tummy goes solid like a brick for about a minute then relaxes again, it's not sore but it's annoying
Not everyone gets Braxton hicks. My first was around 37 to 39 weeks. My second started at 15 weeks. It's not a worry if you do no feel them :)
Make sure you are drinking a lot of water if they bug you. Also, they should go away if you change position or activity. If I'm getting one when I'm sitting or laying down, I just get up and walk around. If I get one while walking, I sit down. That's what my Dr told me and it helps a ton.
Mine started around 20 weeks. For me they're painless but you definitely notice them. Your stomach/uterus area gets really tense and hard to the touch. They still take me off guard sometimes and I'm almost 26 weeks. And I always have to pee after lol cuz they put pressure on my bladder too.
I'm 20 weeks plus, I've apparently been having them since 16 weeks and maybe before. I didn't figure out what they were till a few days ago. They're painless entirely, just a tightening like when you laugh. I've also heard that you should call your dr. If you have more than 4 per hour. I've been having them every 20-30 mins or so for like 3 days. I have an ultrasound fri. I'll learn more then.
