13 weeks

I have a 13 week ultrasound tomorrow for the down syndrome test. I have heard of people finding out Tue gender at 13 weeks. Has anyone found out at 13 weeks ?

Although their parts are there, they are too small to see but I suppose it isn't impossible to find out that early. I found out at 17 weeks.

I found out at 14 weeks with my son. I read its easier if its a boy. But the absenceof boyparts dodoesn't mean its definitely a girl either. Sometimes girl parts are swollen or boys are just late bloomers lol

I found out at 13 weeks, and was confirmed at 18 weeks. I'm having a boy. I was told that if it's a girl you might not be able to find out at 13 weeks.

My last pregnancy I was told I was having a boy at 14 weeks and then a girl at 20. We had a girl. Lol so its not 100% that early.

I also have heard its easier to tell with a boy. Im having a hi tech ultrasound so maybe there's a better chance of them being able to tell

Why are they doing a down syndrome test so early? Too early can be a misdiagnosis. Is that normal?

The test is called nuchal translucency screening. It's the earliest down syndrome test. Some doctors say it isn't necessary if your age family history are good and some insurances won't pay if your history suggests you're not at risk. Most people do the blood test later at 18 weeks called the quad screen. But yes some people find out gender that early but it's kinda rare. Some offices won't even take the chance at guessing that early. Good luck to you!

They did my gender test at 15 weeks and said its a girl. Confirmed that at 18 weeks. And I'm now 27 weeks and its still a girl! So Im all for it. They're usually pretty accurate. Just make sure your tech has some good n long.experience under his/her belt.
