swelling at 28 weeks

Yesterday morning I noticed some swelling in my feet but ignored it because I just figured it was normal. I had an appointment that afternoon and was even more swollen. Feet, legs, and hands. My dr didnt look at it but just said it was normal. Last night swelling was so bad my skin was tingly and looked shiny. This morning was still kind of swollen, now my feet, legs, waist, stomach, and hands are very swollen. And i have a really bad pain in my lower stomah and in my back on the right side like in my ribs, im not sure if its connected to the swelling. Of course my ob closed early today and i really dont feel like going to the hospital. Does anyone know have any suggestions of what to do or had anything like this? Thanks!

Increase ur water intake and use less seasoning in your food. They say food with a lot of seasonings increase swelling.

All these sound like pre eclampsia. Go to the hospital right  away. Don't wait for nothing.

I agree with the others,  Brooke.  It sounds like you have symptoms consistent with pre-eclampsia.   The severe headache coupled with swelling and raised blood pressure should be checked.

Best wishes.

I would go to the ER right away.  It sounds like pre eclampsia to me.

If you have a med stop in your town i would go immediately. . Salt sometimes makes you swell but not like you are explaining. . Sounds a lot more serious.  Keep us updated.

My blood pressure is usually really low. Around 110/60 and yesterday it was 128/90. I told the nurse it was higher then normal, she said she was going to see what it usually is and let me know. But never said anything.

How was blood pressure yesterday?? Sudden excessive swelling could be a sign of pre eclampsia but that also comes with high blood pressure. Try staying off your feet and keep them elevated and see if it goes down. Also drink lots of water and just try to relax. If it doesn't get any better you should call the on call Dr or go to the hospital to be certain..

Did you have a urine test to check for protein in your urine?

Are you having any visual disturbances - spots,  flashes?

Do you have a headache?
