Why So Much Negativity?

I've  read a lot of the post and rants and I'm just don't understand how could some moms be so negative to others. This is a forum we all come from different walks of life. Please lets respect what we all have to say and feel. Everyone won't agree with everything everyone put but someone else out there will. Everyone needs support on here so let's do that SUPPORT each other and not tear one another down just because we see things differently.

On the Internet, there are no brakes and no penalties.  It's to be expected that some people will say critical or annoyed things, not that anyone should but it happens.  This is especially true on the hormone-driven forums, like the pregnancy forums. What is also interesting is that someone might say something not meant to be rude or critical and will get an angry response from the person to whom it is said.  Again, it comes from the ability to speak one's mind with no access to facial expression, nuance, or tone of voice, and no penalty for getting the tone wrong.  It's also true that some of the posters who write are very thin-skinned about getting comments or advice that are contrary to what they want to hear.

So, what can you do?  You can practice being more tactful than you think you need to be, in your own writing on this forum.  It is an interesting discipline, to learn to do this.  Writing for the Internet is different than other kinds of writing because you really do need to let things sit and re-read lots of times, and people don't always (or often).  And you can shrug off those who are not this careful.
