adult depends ...do you think it would work?

Anybody else have the thought of buying some depends close to labor?

Im 37 weeks and feel like im gonna blow anyday now.  I dont want my water to break in bed...what a mess!  I was walking through walmart and adult depends caught my eye.  The thought crossed my mind that i should wear them at night and if my water broke it would soak up the leakage!  Anybody try this befor?  Whats your opinions?

So this is tmi but should help. I got the flu and was peeing myself a lot every day. Panty liners didn't work and pads designed for periods didn't work. So I got pads like depends, but not that brand and not full underwear. They are pads designed for heavy peeing and extra long. I used always descreet and an off brand. They worked really well when I was throwing up or coughing gard and peed myself. They would probably help collect a lot of the fluid, but I don't think they would stop it all. They really fast absorbing and hold a lot. I  just remember when my water broke in my first pregnancy it was more than any kind of pad or underwear would hold. So you could wear them, but don't count on it stopping the whole mess.

I'm thinking of using Depends. Not for when my water breaks, but for post natal bleeding. I don't want to have to worry about leaking on my underwear during the first few days after giving birth.

I would be more comfortable getting a waterproof bed mat to put under your section of the bed rather than dealing with depends. Seems uncomfortable

We use a mattress protector.  It's not water proof (so does not get hot and sticky) but slightly padded.  If you had one of those you could put a towel under it so it couldn't move around and have added protection.   I think that would be more comfortable than wearing a diaper.

You could put a big towel under your sheet too, just incase.... my waters always go not long before giving birth but saying that I've probably jinxed myself now haha.

I had the same thought.  Lol. My water has always broken before I'm well into labor.

Most women's  water doesn't  break until well in to labour. BUT I had mine break a day beiges labour started. I was in the bathroom going pee stood up and Woush it came out about a 1/2 cup.  I would say like previous poster to get a really good Bed liner as they mostly are plastic and make you all hot and sticky.

Ill have to look around for a good one!  Ive tried a water proof bed pad with my preivious pregnancies and found it made me hot sticky and sweaty all night.  I could not sleep properly on it!
