My friend went back to shift work when her daughter was three months old (4 on, 4 off with 12 hr shifts). It *****, but you are not a bad mom because you have to support your family. If you feel this is the best choice for your family, it probably is.
I plan to go back at 8 weeks. I can't afford to take more than that off work.
Thank you, glad I'm not the only one :-) I stayed home with my first for 18mths and it was tough. Way too long but I justified it in my head that he was benefiting my undivided attention. I guess that's why I'm a little sad I can't do the same for this one, but like you said, we also need to be able to afford our babies.
When I had my first daughter I went back to work at 4 1/2 weeks and when my friend had her daughter she was going back to work 3 days after the baby was born( just for a few hours a day). Ignore about what other people say about you going back to work at 8 weeks. 12 months is a long time to go without an income especially having to support a baby. Your doing what you need to do to make money to support your child.
I plan on going back at 6 weeks. I am a ftm so I'm sure it will be hard but I also need money to be able to raise my baby
If everything goes smoothly for me, I plan on going back to work at 8 weeks. And I used to work in a daycare that took babies as early as 3 weeks.

I am in Minnesota, we get FMLA for 12 weeks where pur job is protected but our short term disability only pays 5 weeks after a week waiting period. So I'm going to use vacation for that week and probably go back 6 weeks after having if everything goes normal.
