I had it in for about 30mins and it was definitely uncomfortable but not really painful but im glad my doc used that over chemical dilation (ive heard many women having to get multiple doses and still nothing my mom included)

The balloon didn't hurt me, I only had it in for maybe 10 minutes. It did feel really strange to me, but after all there was a balloon in the middle of my cervix.
I had to go and use the restroom and after I'd flushed I had a really uncomfortable feeling in my vagina so I stayed sitting down, and the balloon came right out.

If its the balloon they use to dilate you i thought it was pretty uncomfortable and a little painful the inserting doesnt hurt its mostly that by the time u get used to it they pull it out a little more so it starts hurting again its like a constant pressure and that is the only dilation i got my cervix doesnt dilate after the balloon they did pitocin still nothing ended in csection. Wish i woulda been on the epidural before the balloon but i wanted to tough it out after 12 hours of labor and no progress i finally caved and got the epidural. Sorry couldnt give you better news.
