big brother gift

So I have a son who will be 4 in October. I am currently 28 weeks 3 days along and due November 3rd with our little girl! :) I have been talking to him about his sissy and trying to make sure he is well involved and don't feel left out at all. My baby shower is next Saturday (the 23rd) and since his sissy will be getting lots of gifts I am going to of course let him help open them so the excitement is there. I was thinking about getting him a "big brother" gift that is just his that he can open that day. This is where I need everyone's help what could I get him to show we are proud of him and that he is the big brother? Also was thinking about getting him a big brother bag po things to open at the hospital to help take care of her? Idk what to put in that either like baby blanket? Burp rag? Help please

We have a four year old son and are expecting a girl in October. I'm not having a shower but we do plan on giving him a big brother book along with a gift from the baby when she is born.

I'm going to make a big brother pack for my boy. A fire engine toy. A doctor set. And a toy tool set. Just something to make him feel special and... let me have some baby bonding time.

To tell our daughter (5yrs old) we were expecting we got a teddy with a tshirt on it... on the tshirt was a pic of our 12weeks scan and the message
" (name) is going to be a big sister"

I've already decided to buy her a present from the baby for when she comes to the hospital to meet him- but I don't know what as it will be just after Christmas!  Aghh

**whats pinetrest??

I am also going to get a big brother to be doing the same thing.  One of the things I am going to do is have a shirt made for him that says I am a big brother what is your superhero power? I am also going to make a big brother bag that I am giving to him at the hospital from his lil brother that is going to be filled with stuff that he loves that he can play with at the hospital. I am also having big brother & Lil brother shirts made for them & probably will have them wear them when we leave the hospital.  A good place to look for ideas is pinterest they have have a ton & it's where I got most of mine. I hope this helps.

I know some nearly 30yrs ago when my mother was expecting me she got my brother a book about mother and father expecting and bringing home a baby, it was one of the Golden Books and this particular story, if I remember correctly, was written in the late 50's (but not 100% it might have been the 70's, I really am not sure right off hand)
But for the hospital, that's a cute idea about giving him a big brother bag so he can help with the baby, burp cloth, bib, paci, blanket...

Maybe a good book about being a brother? I made my daughter her own blankie just from mommy and daddy. I also made one for baby sissy too. And she got to help pick out the fabrics for both. :-)
