We have a four year old son and are expecting a girl in October. I'm not having a shower but we do plan on giving him a big brother book along with a gift from the baby when she is born.
These are some great ideas thank you! Keep them coming :)
I won't but my older child anything but let them pick out a gift for the baby just from them.
How about having a super big brother tee and getting a mask and cape to go with it ;)
I'm going to make a big brother pack for my boy. A fire engine toy. A doctor set. And a toy tool set. Just something to make him feel special and... let me have some baby bonding time.
Sorry stupid auto correct it's actually pinterest. It's a website that has everything you can imagine on it. It has recipes, arts & crafts, dyi activities, ideas of all kinds, & really anything & everything you can imagine. I worn you through that if you get addicted it's not my fault...lol
To tell our daughter (5yrs old) we were expecting we got a teddy with a tshirt on it... on the tshirt was a pic of our 12weeks scan and the message
" (name) is going to be a big sister"
I've already decided to buy her a present from the baby for when she comes to the hospital to meet him- but I don't know what as it will be just after Christmas! Aghh
**whats pinetrest??
That is a great idea...my daughter will be 5 in Sept and i am also due Nov 3rd and baby shower is the 30th...you have given me such a great idea...I will do some brainstorming and let you know!!!
I am also going to get a big brother to be doing the same thing. One of the things I am going to do is have a shirt made for him that says I am a big brother what is your superhero power? I am also going to make a big brother bag that I am giving to him at the hospital from his lil brother that is going to be filled with stuff that he loves that he can play with at the hospital. I am also having big brother & Lil brother shirts made for them & probably will have them wear them when we leave the hospital. A good place to look for ideas is pinterest they have have a ton & it's where I got most of mine. I hope this helps.
I know some nearly 30yrs ago when my mother was expecting me she got my brother a book about mother and father expecting and bringing home a baby, it was one of the Golden Books and this particular story, if I remember correctly, was written in the late 50's (but not 100% it might have been the 70's, I really am not sure right off hand)
But for the hospital, that's a cute idea about giving him a big brother bag so he can help with the baby, burp cloth, bib, paci, blanket...
Maybe a good book about being a brother? I made my daughter her own blankie just from mommy and daddy. I also made one for baby sissy too. And she got to help pick out the fabrics for both. :-)
Any help would be greatly appreciated I am stuck!
