mucus plug or not?

After the doctor checked me to see how much I've dilated she told me I could probably lose my mucus plug since she did that. & I've been having some white discharge but no blood. Could that still be some of the mucus plug? I'm 39+4 ftm.

The mucus plug is usually a pretty solid bit of stuff, a bit yellowish. Consider that it has been sealing the cervix for 9 months! The white discharge is probably the usual pregnant goop that happens for most of us... if it was your mucus plug you will probably go into labour pretty soon- in my first 2 pregnancies the plug came away about 30 mins to and hour before I got my first contraction.
