Just curious about all the moms who have to go back to work earlier than the year maternity leave we are entitled to, what are you doing for child care?? I'm taking 6 months off work, but heard its harder to find a daycare that will take baby that young.

Wow really? I am in Ontario Canada we get paid for a years leave. So I guess I shouldn't be complaining! But our child care usually only takes 1 year or older for babies or you have to find someone who is specially qualified for babies under a year.

A year? Omg you're so lucky! The company I work for gives us 6 weeks and it's all unpaid. When I got back to work my hubby's cousin will be watching lil guy for us. I'm sure you can find a daycare that will accept a 6 month old easily.

Other countries get alot more time off then we do in the usa. Im taking about 6weeks or so off. Then bc i don't want my child to be in daycare that young my moms gonna watch her and also my bf will be changing his work schedule some so that he can watch her the NIGHTS i have to work and then when i get out he will go to work. Also alot of childcare places will take a 6month old but its their minimum age. They will.most likely want to make sure she/he is utd on any shots that may be needed and youay have to pay more then you would for a child 1yr+. Call ur local "state" or government agency alot of them will have a list of approved and certified child care workers and can't point u in the right direction.

I was going to say the same thing.  I work for a small company, and we are not "entitled" to anything. ( I think they can't afford it, would probably go out of business if they had to provide all the goodies the huge companies are obliged to give.)  Anyway, there's a national chain called Goddard School that has a few franchises around here, they have a good system (safe, sanitary, and secure) and they take kids very young in their baby room.  If you're going back to work as early as 6 months, definitely look into one of the national chains even if they are more expensive, because they know the drill.
