children misbehavior

My children acted up so bad during midnight mass we had to leave thirty minute early. They all talked and my three yr old kept saying loudly "let's go home, I wanna get out of here" everyone laughed but it was so embarrassing and a old couple moved to get away from them making noise. I could not believe it, acting like that and at church during Christmas service. Well merry Christmas and hope everyone is having an easier time than me. Lol.

Yup definitely can be stressful at times.. but hey you know kids yea mommy we won't be tried blah blah blah.. but when it's late a they know it they show it especially if they are bored as well.. I used to bring small activities for my daughter to do.. they could get away with it because their children.. hand held video game volume all the way down.. and coloring books try that next time that should work..

Thanks, I know it is normal at least for most children. I know also that they get a little hyper because there are five of them and that gives them someone to act up with. I just would like them to listen when we speak to them, like that will ever happen. We told them that we would be going to church and it would be a long night. We put them down for a late nap and they all said that they were not tired abd would be able to stay up till after service without a nap. Yea right. It is a little frustrating, I am teaching my children like I was taught that you act a certain way in public and not to misbehave. Not working out too well.

I really do agree with you but I am so stressed and just wanted a nice relaxing night at church. It really is hard and stressful having kids, we all know that before going in.

I agree with everyone above.. It was kinda late and if you have them on a sleeping schedule that's the reason for their actions.. Don't feel bad it happens..

I agree that midnight mass would be extremely difficult on a small child.  They'd either be asleep or hyped up.

I think the reason people say your kids are being so good when they're acting up is because if you've had kids,  and they're now grown,  you have a perspective on children's behavior that makes you a lot more tolerant of normal behavior.

(Some older moms are the opposite,  and forget what kids are like and they are mean about normal child behavior).

But anyway - when I see obviously frustrated and embarrassed parents dealing with a typical child's behavior,  I stop and tell them how beautiful their kids are,  and that they're sweet.  Because sometimes parents can miss that,  and think that talking out in a church at midnight isn't kind of what you should expect of a 3 year old.

Well it is a midnight mass. I think they were just tired. I doubt they're used to staying up that late.

The thing that gets me a couple of ladies said how good they were being and said we should stay. Everyone always says how good they are no matter where we go, why would people think that when they are acting up?
