You could apply for assistance in the hospital. When i went tobmy first appt and the ob office gave me a payment thing that my husband and i couldnt afford bc our insurance is only 60% and they told me if i couldnt afford it to go to the area of the hospital where you pay bills for them (i dont remember the name) and apply for assistance. Thankfully we were approved for 100% so that is one HUGE load off our shoulders and i couldnt thank God enough for this. You could always try
Its important to get the test I didn't know it was optional they usually don't give it until 26 - 28 weeks.. I just had mines its really disgusting to me
In the US I don't think the glucose test is optional.... Maybe you can make payment arrangements with your hospital?
It's very important. If you do have GD it can cause your baby to grow abnormally to quick. The extra insulin you produce can cause your babies heart to thicken, which is like steroids. The baby will grow faster but the organs won't be developed enough. It's a very serious thing, please take the test. I have type 2 diabetes so I definitely know all about this cause I'm going through it. My daughter will be about 9 lbs when she's born but she is in good health because I've been trackin my sugars and seeing a specialist. Don't let it get to far! It's better to know even if it costs you the money.
What is the procedure for it. Ftm 12wks. Just wanting to know what to expect and when.
yes the glucose test and in the United states I believe every pregnant person has to take it
The glucose test is very important.... it tests you gestational diabetes... if you have GD and it is not managed... you could have a huge baby.... that is the most recognized concern-- however uncontrolled sugar levels could lead go congenital heart defects, type 1 diabetes in your baby, a very sick baby at birth who cant manage their own sugar levels, or a stillborn.... I have gestational diabetes and asked a lot of questions... when my baby is born they are doing an echocardiogram on her to check her heart
Im not sure where your from so procedure may be different but in England (correct me people if im wrong) you dont actually get offered that test unless reason too..like my mumma is diabetic so i got offered it but really other than a medical reason we dont get offered it...that probably doesnt help you but it may give you an insight :)
