In the same boat too. Our son is 5 and we are due a baby girl on June 19th.

We included him by letting him pick an outfit out and a teddy bear. Let him talk to my tummy and take measurements with his tape measure. He feels her move. We let him choose some names for the pot. And do a drawing.for her room. Good luck x

That is not an age gap!!!

My older brother 14 years older that me
My sister is 8 years older that me
My little brother is 18 years younger than me

You kids will adapt. They might not always get along, but they will love eachother.

I agree, 5yrs isn't bad at all! I'm in the same boat as Cindy82 my son is 13yrs old and I'm 30+3weeks pregnant with a baby girl. He is excited though, I talk to him regularly about changes around the house that will come and I also remind him that I will be there for him in every way even after baby. I still plan to have mommy&son time just me & him :)

5 years isnt bad for an age gap. My sister is 6yrs younger than I am. Just keep talking to your son :) he will probably be just as excited about the new baby as you are :)

My daughter will be five by time her brother is born, and we include her in as much as possible. She helped us pick out things for the registry, and I took her with me when we found out the gender.

My daughter is 6 and pretty excited. We have been making sure she understands she is special but she will need to help with baby, etc. She has a book about being a big sister which also is nice. She recently finished Kindergarten so we hung her certificate with our college degrees. We are just trying to make her feel as special as we can before the baby comes in August. Hope this helps!
