When was your first ultrasound?

I'm 7+3 & I have my first apt with my OBGYN on friday. I really want to have an ultrasound done but I dont know if they usually do one at the 8 week apt. I was pregnant this past may and lost the baby at the end of june so I'm really nervous about losing this one too. That ultrasound would definitely be solid reasurance. How far along we you when you had your first ultrasound?

My doctor doesn't give ultrasounds until 20 weeks. Unless you're having a problem within the pregnancy (thinks it could be ectopic etc) Or if you really don't know when your last period was. Then he will do one to determine due date. If it wasn't for me telling them I had a funky period the month before I found out I was already pregnant, I wouldn't have gotten one until week 20. But thankfully, I got one at 12w and found out I was already 13w3d.

Yes hanna I think that is ridiculous. I've heard how many doctors in Ireland wait a while. I couldn't deal with that very well especially after already having had a miscarriage.

im 11 weeks today and still waiting for my apointment! I live in Ireland and my friend who is also pregnant qas aaiting untill she was 14 weeks! ridiculous if you ask me!!

I had my first at 6 weeks to confirm the date and have an initial picture. My second was 12 weeks. It all depends on your doctor, but where you had a miscarriage they may want an u/s to confirm everything. It wouldn't hurt to ask while you're at your appointment.

Had one at about 4 to 5 weeks, had bleeding and went to the hospital. Had my first ob appointment at 6 but just blood and such, then went back at 8. Got to hear baby's heartbeat and see my little peanut. Next ultrasound I don't get until 16 weeks..

I had my first ultrasound with this pregnancy at 8weeks exactly!!! :)

I was 5 weeks 4 days when I had my first scan-saw the heartbeat and cried with relief...what a feeling! I don't have another scan until I am 12 weeks. Feels like ages away! :)

I was eight weeks. But thats because I waited was to afraid of bad news

You can go now if you are worried, i went in my week5 just for the reassurment that everything is in a right place, and told me to come again in two weeks. By now you will be able to see babys heartbeat anyway :) beautiful feeling :)
