exclusively pumping

Has anyone on here successfully pumped exclusively?  My son isn't latching because my nipples won't stay errect. I am considering pumping exclusively and bottle feeding my milk. I am worried about it not producing enough down the road. Has anyone had experience in this?

I pumped & formula fed...& will do the same with this one..& when pump I would buy these special storage bags where the baby stuff is to freeze my milk I can get a good supply going on so when u want to quit u still will have some breast milk...nothing wrong with just pumping your baby is still getting the good stuff & the dad can also feed the baby too

I experienced the same thing and I ended up over producing since my output wasn't controlled by him. I pumped for 9 months and had milk for 12

I exclusively pumped with my first born. He had trouble latching from the begining. He has my milk for 12 months. I pumped more than he drank and had a stock pile in the freezer 3+ months ahead of him. Good luck.

I'd like to exclusively pump from the beginning. My doctor said it can be done, you just have to pump every 2 to 4 hours for the first couple of months for an established supply.

Yeah, we have been using it, but the nurse really didn't seem happy about it coming to that. It's kind of hard to keep on and it's so long that he won't latch deep (he has a strong gag reflex) so he pinches my nipple
