Special panties?

A lady I work with told me I will need to wear special "pregnancy panties". I bought a size medium undies at VS yesterday and I think those will be fine for a while. Do I have to buy/wear special undies, or just ones that are comfortable? This lady is about 20 years or so older than I am, so her advice might be outdated (I'm not sure). Anyone know?

I'm right there with you. My 1st as well so we learn as we go. I didn't even know there were pregnancy undies till I actually went unto a pregnancy store for my babyshower outfit. I only decided to buy them because mine that I have worn for years were getting tighter in the middle of the night it seemed so I would wake up and take them off and then go back to sleep. Was doing that every night. Lol why spend the money if you don't need to? I'm basically just figuring that all out on my own. I LOVE the advise from every one but every one is different and body/comfort is different.

I've been wearing my normal ones but I do switch to granny panties after.....so the cute ones are ruined.

I think once I'm closer to delivery, I'll invest in some maternity panties. For now, I'm pretty comfortable in everything, except jeans, the buttons poke into my lower tummy too much. I bought some leggings, those are more comfy. This is my first pregnancy so I'm just trying to learn and navigate and I appreciate any input!

At hospital after birth they do give you stretchy undies attached with a pad due to they are comfy and easier to order in bulk. But when you come home you will find the granny panties are helpful when you wear a pad for a long period of time. And if you mess them up wont care. Better than messing up your cute ones or pricey ones. Just saying.

I used to wear a size small and had to buy a bunch of larges. They are really saggy at the back (very attractive haha) but they aren't too tight on the waist. Ive carried really low this whole pregnancy and baby recently dropped so its not real comfortable. I wish I just bought a pair of maternity undies earlier. I guess it depends on how your baby is sitting

Wear whatever is comfortable. I want a pair of pregnancy panties because I'm having trouble finding a pair that doesn't bother me. My lower tummy is super sensitive so anything that fits there makes me miserable...maybe I should try the granny panties lol. I'm down to three pair that I can still tolerate.

Lol what a subject.  I've been wearing my usual style but had to get bigger size as my bum has got bigger.  But you should wear whats comfy for you, we're all different shapes and sizes, I did buy some fancy undies in the sale recently to entice my partner as hes been no where near me and i needed some tlc lol he loved the enormous fancy pants that matched the bra. They were comfy also especially the bra.

Thanks everyone. I've been wearing the same size undies the past 6 months. I only just recently bought a size medium only because my butt is a little bigger now. They're just as comfortable in my opinion, I didn't think I needed special undies. My office consists of myself and 3 ladies, all older, and I don't mind their advice.

I love my maternity underwear. Definitely not a must or something, but if your normal ones get uncomfortable, I highly recommend them.

Yeah me personally I'm good with some cotton Hanes. :) my husband always makes fun of me. But oh well. He knows the deal when I'm preg (w/#4) I never wore maternity ones. Just ones that were cheaper and I knew I'd throw away after.

As far as I know they have regular pads just bigger but what do I know I only went though delivery 5 times. You also don't need special panties, I always wore my normal ones and if needed bought a cheap pack in my style a size or so bigger. My church gave me new maternity clothes on my third pregnancy and the clothes had a couple pair of maternity panties. I tried to wear them but they were weird and if you are having trouble getting your partner to leave you alone about wanting sex they are perfect. Lol. Even the most hard up guy would not find them sexy.

I bought granny ones when I'm preg. Cause of the extra discharge and all that fun stuff.  Plus they're comfy when u get bigger

The only time I bought different ones was when I had my csection.   Normally I wear bikini cut and with the incision area that does not work too well didn't want them rubbing right there.

I bought some pregnancy undies with my first - they were super comfy and I wore them well after giving birth too, they weren't huge or anything just cut in a way that they didn't bother my stretching skin. I honestly wore them out over the four years since I bought them so I imagine I'll buy some more this time.
In the future please do remember that it's well within your rights to tell people that your choice in underwear is none of their business. I can't figure how someone would think that's an appropriate topic of conversation, especially at work.

I wear my same ones. . I am 39 weeks and 5 days.  I did buy some cheap granny panties though for after delivery that are comfy and don't care if I wreck them.
