How do I tell if I'm in labor

I'm 29 weeks pregnant but it's my first pregnancy and I'm scared I'm going into labor too early what do contractions feel like? Are they sharp pains in the pelvic area? My pain is on the top of my pelvic bone... someone please help I don't know what's going on and my doctor isn't helpful at all

Hey is it low in your groin, because to me that sounds like ligament pain? If it your whole stomach pulling in towards the centre and down back through your spine and it's painful then it's contraction. In my experience this is. However if u are scared, worried or think something is wrong keep telling midwife, doc or hosp as the mothering instinct is strong xx

If there are getting worse and  about 5 min apart for an hour I would go to ER. Better safe then sorry.  That is about when I got Braxton Hicks. They feel like contractions but are not consistant. They also are not as harsh
