I had inverted nipples and either hand expressed to thenpoint the nipple would come out good enough or would pump before hand to get the out. I never liked the idea of me using a nipple shield butnit could be helpful if your open to it.
Thank u for replying girls...
I have inverted nipples so mine are flat all the time. With my first pregnancy I used a nipple shield to get him to latch and feed but my son had issues breastfeeding that we couldn't get past so I had to stop. With my second on I used a nipple shield but only long enough for her to latch and suck a few times then took it off and latched her straight to breast. With my nipple shield I didn't sterilize it after each use I just washed it with soap and water and sterilized it every week. I also had more than one shied. Good luck.
I had that problem with my first and the lactation nurse told me to use nipple shields to help with that. Im on baby #2 and I dont think I will have that problem this time. Id always had somewhat flat nipples prior to kids but now they naturally are out more.
