flying and pregnancy

Hey guys has anyone flown while being pregnant?  If so how many weeks were you?
We just found out were expecting but have already paid for an overseas honeymoon in october.

Im 31 weeks and im on holidays in hawaii (10hr flight from Australia!) for another week so ill be 32 weeks the day we land! I found it fine, yeah uncomfortable but thats it. Just drink lost of water and wear tge compression stockings! (I hated the stockings they were the worst bit!!) Xx

I'm 17 weeks and just flew twice this past week. Also flew internationally early in pregnancy. Will fly to hawaii at 22 weeks (babymoon) and again at 26 weeks (work). My experience so far has been normal w no issues flying.  I walk on the plane every hour,  drink plenty, and wear compression stockings.  I should mention that I have had a very easy pregnancy so far, but I was very comfortable.  My doc said international travel is ok up to 32 weeks and domestic travel up to 36 weeks.  Good luck!

Use lots hand sanitizer to combat germs on arm rest folding trays and lavatories if flying during flu season use a disposable surgeon mask

many airlines allow you to fly upto 28weeks, and from 28 to 36 weeks only with written consent from ur doc. u can check the airline websites for accurate info pertaining to individual airlines as it depends on how u plan to fly.

I also hear u gotta wear compression stockings to counter the aircraft pressure and prevent swelling. but better u double-check that.

I just took a 7 hr flight to london @23 wks. Doctor told me to drink a lot of water on the flight to stay hydrated and walk up and down the aisle of plane every 2 hrs to circulate blood in legs and prevent blood clots my gf recommended compression knee highs for long flights...I think you can travel until 3rd trimester 2nd trimester is when most couples take a Babymoon

I flew when I was around 12 weeks. I just made sure I went threw the right xray machines. Had no problems, it was only a 3 hr flight tho. Just talk with your doctor

I traveled at 21 weeks at a 14hr flight! It wasnt bad , just don't stay sitting for long and move,  and stay hydrated :)

I just came back from spain im 15 weeks .... it wasnt so bad.....it was a 10 hour flight. ask your dr how far along you can still travel

I experienced a death in the family and flew to be at the funeral.  I was around 25 weeks. My biggest concern was the germs you are exposed to on an airplane.  With almost no immune system while pregnant,  we are very susceptible to getting sick. I had hoped to not fly at all while pregnant but decided to be with my family during such a challenging time. Especially going overseas. .. make sure you talk to your doctor.

I plan of flying back home to Texas to have my kid at 37wks. I'm nervous,  but it's only 4hours. God bless. I hope your travel is safe.

The main risk is if you go into labor you are stuck at 30,000 ft and it could be a long time before you get to a doctor or midwife.
I know many people who have flown while pregnant all have been just fine, just drink lots of water! Flying is very dehydrating.

I've never flown while pregnant, but I would expect you to be at least a little bit uncomfortable depending on how far along you are. I will also talk to your doctor so you could have an idea of what to expect or to look out for while you're flying. I know the only time that would stop you is if you're flying after being 8 months along or farther.

I flew at 12 weeks and it was uncomfortable. Some airlines have restrictions for pregnant women. Can't fly or- advised not to fly in 3rd trimester.
