foley catheter

If you have had one did you go into labor only with that or did you need an alternative such as pitocen or drs break your water? With my first I was contracting and as soon as they got it in I stood up my water broke. The second time I had it it fell out on its own but they needed an alternative procedure. I'm booked in for foley tomorrow and induction Saturday. I'm only 1cm. I want to go into labor on my own (before my induction date which is booked for saturdag)without them breaking my water or pit but I don't kthink that will happen.

I know how they work. Just wondering if anyone else had it and labor started before the drs break water or administer pit. Im going to have them break my water first as I don't want medication. I'm 37.4 today and awaiting the time to call the hospital and get a time to go in for the foley. As much as I want to wait medically I need to be induced :(

I had one and it opens you to 4 then it's designed to fall out. I had pitocine and then they broke my water. Think that's usually the plan unless your body really is ready for natural delivery.

I've had one and all it did was open me up like it's supposed to. I had pitocin to start contractions.
