frustrated

Ok i broke my ankle last Friday i have on cast and im 30 weeks pregnant om scared it will be hard to give birth with this broken ankle since i can't do anything like walk around since im a heavy girl it makes even more hard and no sex either since my body aches a lot too...what can i do to make this labor easy it's my second baby and i wouldn't like a c-section because of this broken ankle and me not doing any activities..

It really depends on the bone. If it isn't bad(and by bad I mean surgery bad, which they would have kept you in the er) as long as you ice it for swelling even through the splint and elevate it above your heart it will help with pain. You should start to heal well. Take vit d and calcium to help with healing. You may end up in a walking boot if it isnt fully broken. I normally have my pts out of casts by 4 weeks and into a walking boot for a few weeks. 10 weeks you can't see the break. Each dr is different and so is each pt. I wouldn't freak out or worry about it

Really omg this makes me feel better well. When i went to the er the doctor put on a splint on and told it would take up to 8 to 12 weeks i really hope it doesn't take that long... the good this is Monday i have my appointment to get the cast on hopefully it goes good...thanks

I work for an orthopedic dr. It doesn't normally take 10 weeks for a broken bone to heal. Kids get castedfor 3 weeks unless it is very complex. Adults vary from 3-5 weeks depending on how bad the break is and life style habits that slow healing like smoking or drinking.
