gender @ 17w6d..?!!

so after our appointment yesterday, I'm even more anxious to know what our little pumpkin is going to be!!
he/she even had his/her legs closed.. so even IF we could have found out, it was next to impossible obviously.

my question is, my next OB appt. is on the 22nd & I'll be 17w6d.. IF the baby allows us to see, will the official boy or girl answer be set in stone?! has anyone gotten a definite boy or girl confirmation at almost 18 weeks, or should I not buy any pink or blue based on that ultrasound? if not, I know my next appointment will be 4 weeks later @ 21w6d, but geeeeez I don't want to wait that long! "/

thank you ladies for everything, please keep us in your prayers!!
come onnnn October!!! (((: ❤

I did with my first one and then they double checked at my 20 wks appointment. Hopefully baby cooperates! That's what needs to happen because sometimes they can be stubborn in there. My little one did acrobatics inside while they were taking measurements, check for abnormalities, and his gender.

well that makes me feel a lot better!!! I know women drinks orange juice, or something really cold or sugary before they go in to find out the gender, but will that do any good at 17w6d?

the baby was a little active yesterday, mainly just moving his/her arms, but at my last OB appt. @ 13w6d he/she did NOTHING!! lol I guess the baby was just sleeping..

any good tips on making sure the baby is active that morning?! lol ((:

I literally just posted a similar thing, haha. A place here offers early 2d/3d/4d gender scans.

lol well, I found a place where we want to go for the 3d/4d ultrasound, but it comes with a GREAT package deal & I wanted to wait until the late 20's, early 30's to get it done when the baby's face is more defined & has enough body fat on him/her..

I'd hate to spend $$$ just to see the gender, when I know my OB will be able to tell me soon and/or eventually.. PLUS spend $$$ on the one I want to have done later you know?! lol

Drink plenty of water. Just water so that it's clear when they do the ultrasound.

Yeah, I'm just sick of waiting. I don't actually care for the 3D and 4D. I just want to know the gender!!

Oh my husband finds it amusing when he jiggles my belly because he gets really active in there. I ate a banana before I went to the doctor one time and as soon as my OB listened to the heartbeat, he was kicking in there (you'll hear bloop when they kick). My 6yr old thinks its hilarious.

lol!! I really do want the deal we looked at.. it's expensive, somewhat, but it'll be worth it.. it comes with pictures, dvd of the baby moving around in there, I've seen one and I fell in love with the idea.. hence the reason why I don't want to fork out $$$ for BOTH!! lol

I'm praying she can tell me in a couple of weeks!

Yes, drink lots of water. I was sure I was going to pee when they did my ultrasound with my first but it was worth it, got great pictures!

With this baby I found out at 14 weeks then reconfirmed at 17 & 18 weeks. At 17 weeks I seen my son's private before they even said it was a boy lol

I felt like I was going to pee too! Especially when the lady was trying to get all the pictures she needed. With my first one he was kicking my bladder so he made it worse. This time around the lady had to tap on my belly a few times to get him to turn.

They usually want you to have a full bladder for the ultrasound. And then they push on you and make you have to pee even more, hahaha

I drank orange juice and my baby moved just enough. Was able to get all the measurements and see the gender.

My cousin got a blood test at week 9 (this was in March) they separated her cells from the babies and she found out gender at week 11!
It is a very new test. I think it is still experimental as part of the prenatal screening program they do here, CA.
That test was not available with her first two years ago.

Many point of the test is to check for genetic abs chromosomal disorders, but it is easy to do gender at the same time

I've heard about that, but I never mentioned it to my OB.. never questioned it for some reason. I guess I just wanted to find out the old-fashioned way? lol!

thinking back now, I probably would have had it done at my 1st appointment if I could have!

I only had 1 scan and it was at 20 weeks. Anatomy and gender. I would think at 17 you would be able to see the gender fairly well as long as baby cooperates. My little guy let it all hang out so I would have been disappointed if I was going for a surprise baby lol.

Yep I was 18 wks with the first one. This time around I waited until 20 wks coz I wasn't sure if I wanted it to be a surprise but I was hoping for a girl and had my heart set on a girl but blessed with another boy who likes to do soccer, boxing and acrobatics inside.
