I was in labor for 21 hours (pushing for 3) with my son. It wasn't so bad. I have a friend who had a couple weeks of off-and-on prodromal labor before finally giving birth to her daughter (her third baby) at 43w2d. They filled the birthing tub five or six times before actually needing it for the main event.

There is no set amount of time; every woman is different. For some, they may be in labor for 2 hours, others (like me) can be there nearly 14 hours. I've even heard some women can be in labor for much longer. You never know how your body is going to respond until you are experiencing it and going through labor. Good luck and best wishes!
