Genital is an STD! Talk to your OB! Genital warts don't have a cure they just hide
those are caused by the HPV virus, you should see you OB/GYN to talk about them soon
She was the one who diagnosed them from hpv and told me that they came because my immune system is not as strong because of the pregnancy. I just wanted to know ifv anyone else got them while pregnant. And did they go away after the baby was born.
Your doctor will probably prescribe you a medication for it. I have shingles which in blood test shows up as the same type of virus. I am on Valtrexfor the remainder of my pregnancy. I am currently 24 weeks. She is hoping it will keep my shingles from coming up. The pills are huge but if they help I will continue to take them. I would definitely talk to your doctor about it. Dont be embarrassed. They need to know for your safety and the baby's. Good luck.
Thank you, I've talked to my OB, and she said she won't start treatment until after the baby is born
Shingles is the chicken pox virus not HPV, it is a type of herpes but not an STI
Shingles is really painful, i had it when i was 8. I hope yours goes away soon
Yeah shingles is painful. Ive had them since I was 12. They arent a STD but they show as the same type of herpes virus in blood work. Just like cold sores. HPV is a herpes virus too. Thats why I thought they may prescribed the Valtrex. Each doctor is different.
HPV is totally different that Herpes
She may tell you to have a c section just in case so that the virus doesn't come in contact with the baby. Don't worry, you're not the only one is happened to.
God bless yal.. We All are in this together. As long as we keep speaking....our hearts will remain strong...and it will be easier...dealing with permanent stds.
I agree with the c section. definitely don't want them transferring to the baby during a vaginal birth
Someone in similar boat. May or may not be helpful at all...bur at least like previous commet said, you're not alone.

Anyways, my blood test for oral herpes came back positive, but genital herpes negative! I about fell off my chair BC I've never even had a cold sore in my life. My doctor said 80% of people test positive have some point in their life.. I researched both genital and oral herpes in depth after that and I'll tell you as scary and devastating it may seem, its not the end of the world, your doctor knows hatw to do to ensure can safe delivery of your baby and at least you know now. Don't stress!
