mucus plug vs. water breaking
How do i know the difference? I went pee last night and about 5 minutes after that my underwear got wet, i didn't do anything because i thought maybe i just peed a little. Then this morning before i even went to the bathroom they got wet again.. Im waiting till 9 to call my doctors office and ask if i should go to the hospital. What do yall think it is? I'm 40 + 2 weeks

My mucous plug came out in globs and was whitish/clearish/brownish/redish when it dislodged... it was consistently coming out for 2 days... my water broke and it was a huge gush followed by very consistent contractions
Mucus plug is the consistency of sticky boogers and usually laced with a bit of blood. Your water leaking is liquid, so there's quite a difference. You might also just be leaking extra discharge. Definitely call your doctor and ask if you are unsure but most times with your water bag leaking,you'd start to get contractions. But it's always better to be safe and ask. She'll probably jut have you go into L&D
Pop a pad on and if its wet through after a while it will be your waters. Your waters can go before your plug and vic versa. Your body is probably ready given your 40wks+
