I was always told heart rate needs to stay under 140 my gma is a nurse and told me that. And dont over do it. But if ur doc isnt concerned then u should be fine
I worked out during my whole pregnancy and gave birth almost a month ago. I think it helped me feel good(no sickness or preg symptoms) through my pregnancy. It is definitely reccomended as long as you can hold a conversation. It not only helps you, but can help in labor/delivery and benefits the baby as well. Keep it up. Dont do sit ups or overhead and my dr said max weight to lift was 15lbs. That was about all the restrictions i was told to follow and i looked a lot of info up online about it.
Youtube the lady doing squats w huge weights at 9 months preggers an show her that lol
The way that I see being pregnant and exercising is, if animals in the wild get pregnant and need to run for their lives or hunt to catch their food, and still give birth to healthy babies, then we as humans should be able to do the same in terms of exercise and still have a healthy baby. It's basically the same thing if u think about it.
Check to make sure but I think the maximum heart rate is 150.
If u were doing all of that before, ur having a normal pregnancy, and ur tolerating it well, it's perfectly fine and healthy for u and baby. I do the same.... vigorous exercise at 36 weeks, still running, doing modified insanity videos, and almost everything else I used to do. The heart rate restrictions for exercise are outdated, and not suggested anymore. Now, the suggestion is to be comfortable while doing it such as being able to have a conversation. Your mom just isn't up to date on current obgyn guidelines bc rest and inactivity are what used to be recommended. Those are outdated now. If she used too be a nurse, I would suggest telling her to look up the new recommendations and do some research. If she's a nurse, she's a lifelong learner and should be willing to do so! Good luck mama and keep it up. I'm headed to do a T 25 video then go for a run!!
I think its great you work out.. My dr said I can do my workouts.. the main thing is if your body was use to it before you should be able too.. My husband's family doesn't think I'm eating enough.. But I have more smaller and healthier meals..
I would talk it over with your OB because i have been told if your use to it you can continue however im not sure zumba and step are considered moderate. I walk 3 miles a day and my doc has also encouraged exercise however she said its fine to exercise bit DO NOT diet. They never want preggy women dieting.
The typical rule of thumb is you want to be able to hold a conversation while you workout. If you are too winded to talk comfortably with someone than you need to bring the intensity down a bit.
I walk 3 miles a day, my doctor told me it's fine as long as II'm not out of breath or anything, then I do weight training for 30 minutes, I'm 16 weeks and so far my Lil man is great
