You can make spaghetti since its so cheap to make, if you receive WIC use the fruits/vegetables check to buy veggies to make a salad. Get some market brand juice and add sierra mist or sprite to make it bubbly so it can look fancy and it tastes good. You can make some cupcakes buy the mix at dollar tree. For games just google to find ideas for diy games that cost little or no money. Dollar tree has lots of cute decorations and you can also buy a few of the gifts for the games there too. Where there's a will theres a way, if u really want a shower you can do it just put some thought to it. I personally don't want one since I had 4 when I had my first, now I'm expecting my second so I have to buy everything. Feel free to message me if you want more ideas, I'm all about saving money.
I signed up for free classes at my hospital. Like preparing for child borth, a hospital tour, a breastfeeding class. At all the classes I received a free gift and they also had raffles. A car seat, high chair, stroller were all raffled. After birth we are also given a gift and a champagne dinner for two. Not sure if your hospital offers any of this but you can call and ask.
My mom and cousin are hosting my baby shower and my bOyfRiend sent me the money for decorations and games. For food I'm having meatballs, wings, chicken salad, buffalo chicken dip, spinach dip, and a fruit and veggies tray. My last shower i had everyone make a certain dish and bought cheap but nice decorations and it turned out being great
If your family knows your tight on money I'm pretty sure they wont mind the lack of decorations or snacks. Like the ladies above said, have a pot luck. Tell everyone you making a turkey or a couple of whole chickens. Whole chickens can cost you less that $20 bucks. Everyone else bring sides. Get everyone's email and instead of sending invitations, borrow a friends computer or go to the library and create an invitation or even send a text message.
I think the potluck is a really good idea! It doesn'tt have to be big things just appetizers.
Me personally I made all my own games, like jeopardy and the price is right and who knows mommy and daddy and stuff.
Can you try to post on Craigslist or something similar and ask if anyone has anything they could give you for free for your baby shower? I'm sure some people may have decorations around that they don't need and stuff.
I hope you get to have one. ♡
If you both have supportive families ask them to throw u one.but I feel no one should have to ask it should come from the heart.
You could also do an online baby shower and it won't cost you a thing. All my family lives in other states so I did an online baby shower and posted trivia questions and pictures and stuff like that and also let people know where I was registered at. Hope you get your celebration.
Yes sad to say I have. if u dont mind me asking what you & the dads family like?
I'm doing the pot luck thing its so much easier :)
Thats when you different peiple bring a dish. So u wont have to spend a lot of money on food.
I'm having a bbq baby shower and inviting both men and women. It will be super casual and potluck style (everyone brings a dish).
There r some other post about baby showers that had good idea. Someone on one of the other post had a potluck baby shower. I thought this qas a good idea.
