Trouble breathing/ chest pressure

Hi all.. I'm 21 weeks and over the last week I've been having a little trouble breathing and I feel like an elephant is sitting on my chest. I had asthma when I was a kid and this isn't the same. No wheezing, no strain to get air.. It's almost as if I just have to work harder to breathe if that makes any sense. M heart also races when I lay down a night. I will talk to my dr of course but I did a little research online and see its pretty normal. I was just curious if anyone else has experienced this and if you've noticed anything that helps. Thanks!

When you're laying try to prop yourself up on some firm pillows...I know its not always as comfy but not being able to breathe feels worse.

Thank you! That is reassuring!

Unfortunately it is normal. The baby is putting a lot of pressure on your organs, diaphragm,  and arteries. I also feel out of breath at times. I try to take it easy, change my position, and eat foods that don't bloat me. Definitely talk to your doctor though.
