So do I need to place a warm towel on my breast before I start to pump?

Yeah they are an actual worldwide organization. Most of the people have degrees in things like advertising, business, or marketing since a huge part of their organization is sale of their products. They have their own line of (expensive) nursing bras, belly bands, etc. If you go through your hospital you'll usually get an RN that's licensed in lactation as well which is nice because they have a deeper understanding of the physiology that goes along with breastfeeding.

Oh, I didn't even know they were certified. I just thought it was like some kind of Facebook movement (I'm not even on Facebook) of moms helping moms?  I've just heard people talking about them before as being extreme but helpful. Lol

CountryMomToBe LA leche league can be good, but I learned that anyone can become a "certified consultant" for them by taking an online course. Most of them have no medical background at all.

There's a group called La Leche League (Isupposedly they are supposed to be a little extreme, BUT they'd probably provide some good resources).

When you breast feed a good latch it key. Squeeze your nipple so a little milk comes out and baby can smell it and when baby starts rooting and opens their mouth stick as much in as you can. You should be able to hear an audible suck and swallow. Also if you still have difficulty call your hospital that you delivered at (or even your pediatrician). Many can set you up with a lactation consultant and breast feeding support groups. Your milk production will improve the more you do it you just need to get the engines going again so to speak :-)

What type of Breast pump are you using? Also heat will help with a let down.

Congrats on your baby and decision to breastfeed! An important thing to remember is that just because you only get two ounces with a pump doesn't mean that it wouldn't flow for your baby. Babies are much more efficient then even the very best pump. If you haven't already, try pumping just enough out that your breast isn't so swollen and hard, and try to latch her on again. Don't give up! Call a lactation consultant if you keep having problems, they help so much!

Also after you pump and have some relief try latching baby on to the breast since a baby's suck is more efficient at emptying the breast and will also release more oxytocin to help improve milk production.

The more you pump/ breastfeed the more milk you will produce and the easier it will become
