honest opinion

I had my 1st baby shower meeting today! I'm thrilled. Now we getting marries like a month before baby shower so someone suggested a baby shower/wedding reception. What do you guys think of that.. 6 out of the 7 liked the idea and 1 person thought it was tacky. One reason I liked it was because I don't have many friends and my family lives out of state. So I'm relying on my bf family and friends. And men don't really like baby showers but if its a reception more then likely they will come? What do you guys think?

And don't listen to negativity. I think it's an awesome idea. 3 years ago for my daughters first bday we had a Super Bowl/birthday party. A lot of my family didn't approve of it but we killed 2 birds with 1 stone. Have fun and enjoy. Good luck

We just had a cook out. The men did their thing and the ladies did their thing some of the men participated in some of the games. We had a blast. We played pool corn hole and volley ball. We did that with both my pregnancies and we plan on doing it with this one as well.

I think it sounds like a marketable idea. In your situation it's perfect!

This is a question you cant get a good answer for. Its an honest case of each to their own. If you like it, then go a head and plan as you like. However I have to agree with the one that says it tacky for many reasons (which are just my opinion) but also now people that wouldn't attend ur bby do will be forced to come cause it part of a wedding they would have otherwise attend. Better pray they dont stay away cause of the shower.

I think its a very cost effective solution. And men will come to anything if there is food and booze!

We did a cookout/babyshower. The men loved it. I don't see a problem with a wedding/baby shower.
