Fishy Oder = bv (Bacterial vaginosis) something you don't need in pregnancy. Douching is a big no no expecialy if your pregnant. It's not a std but a inbalance of your ph down there.. Hormones could be a cause. Find a different doctor and let them check you

Ive always been douching is a big no no so I assume that includes pregnancy especially since the balance is more easily upset then. If you feel you really need to do something try just squirting plain water up there to rinse things out.

My midwife told me douching during pregnancy was not recommended at all.

You might ask if he ran a swab checking for BV.  It's not an STD in the classic sense, it's a bacterial infection, but it does smell.

You know, that opens the whole can of worms about whether it's a good idea to douche ever.  I've read that it disrupts the normal flora of the vaginal area, which is apparently designed to stay clean by its ph and the downward flow of vaginal secretions.  During pregnancy, I would especially tend to want to let things go the natural course, especially if doing anything else would be disruptive of the normal ph balance and like that.  Do you think you have a yeast infection?
