The start of my induction was at 7pm on a Thursday night. I was admitted and brought to the labor and delivery room. I was hooked to a million different monitors. They gave me oral medication that they said would possibly start labor. I literally was made to sleep on the uncomfortable delivery table.  I was not allowed to leave the bed unless it was to go to the bathroom which required a team of nurses to come in and unhook me. Anytime I moved all the bells and whistles went off because the monitor would lose the baby's heartbeat. I was on a liquid diet from the moment I was admitted to after I had delivered. My doc came in at 9:30am on Friday and broke my water. They started the pitocin drip then too. I was in instant labor. After about 4 hours I had only dilated to 3. Around 2 I got a shot of nubane, it was awful! Made ne feel drunk and in pain. An hour later I got an epidural. At 6 I was still only at 4 cm. By 7:30 my epidural had completely wore off and I was able to move my lower half and feel everything! When I was checked at 8 I was finally d ialated to 10. I started pushing at 8:30. After passing out a few times, throwing up a lot, stripping off all my clothes because I was so hot ,my daughter was born at 10:24 pm friday 12/9/11. I was exhausted and starving! The cafeteria was closed so I could not get a meal and one of the nurses gave me her pudding snack and a glass of milk from her lunchbox. I am pregnant with my second child and hope it goes smoother this time. I hope I didnt scare anyone. Congrats and good luck mommy's!

Weird. My Dr will just be keeping me there. He doesn't think I'll take very long to dialate though. We're not doing the balloon thing. I'm not sure the differences.

You're getting induced, then being sent home? Never heard of that before. And what do you mean permanent BH? If you are getting constant contractions, time them, it may be the real deal starting.

I was induced twiced.  Had both kids in 4 hours, and pushed for 4 minutes.  Depending on how your body handles prescriptions, it could go wonderful  like mine or it could go like my cousin. She was induced one month prior when I had my first.  She looked like she went through a boxing  match and got all puffy.  Just get an epidural about an hour once contractions  start 10 minutes appart... trust me or the contractions  will get very strong and very fast.
