I did the ultrasound/blood test combo and came back high probability of Downs so opted for the new blood test since amniocentesis is to invasive and risky IMO. Test results wouldn't have affected my decision about the pregnancy, I'm just a need to know kind of person. Wanted time to prepare myself, husband and children of need be. But everything came back normal and I even got to find out the sex early!  (Its a boy!!!)

Ladies, having a child with down syndrome can be scary, and worrisome and stressful during pregnancy. I found out when my son was born. Had 6 ultrasounds that saw nothing. And I wasn't going to risk an amnio. Anyways, there is a new T-21 blood test to you only, that can give you a definite answer without harming you or baby. And its accuracy is in the 90's percentile. Talk to your doctor about it if you want to know for sure. :-)

I didn't do any of the tests either bc I didn't feel like I was at risk for the baby having anything and also bc I knew it wldnt change my mind about having my baby!! Also didn't need the added stress of worrying about tests results that are notoriously wrong alot! My Dr actually suggested I didn't have the testing

I didn't do it with any of my three pregnancies. It wasn't going to change anything and I didn't want to spend half my pregnancy worrying and waiting for test results.

I opted out because it will not change anything. I will have my baby regardless of what some test says.

I didn't do it with my 3 other children but did it for this pregnancy.  Had my blood taken yesterday for SB.  I only did it this time for the chance to see the baby on ultrasound again.  Never did it before because the outcome wouldn't affect my decision to have my baby and would give me months to worry about it.

I had the CVS test when my first trimester screen came bk abnormal. Was the best thing ever. Gave me a piece of mind. My other test came back low risk for spina bifida.next week have my anatomy scan and will decide about amniotesis if needed. I believe the testing is wonderful
