Please don't attempt to check your own cervix. It is a huge huge risk for irritation of the tissue and getting an infection. You don't want an infection in your cervix or vagina this close to your due date. I guarantee that won't make you feel better.
If you want your doctor to check you, just ask. But know that it gives them absolutely no clue of when you will go into labor. As posted earlier you could be 3cm dilated for six weeks and make zero progress or you could go from 0-10cm in four hours. Where you are at 36 weeks does not matter. At all.
And threatening to go to the hospital to be checked won't do you any good. Not only will it annoy your doctor to be threatened, it will annoy the L&D staff who have to check someone who's obviously not in labor. That's a waste of time, resources, and money.
You'll dilate when you dilate. You'll go into labor when you go into labor. Until then, just let it go. You can't make it happen any faster by worrying about it.

My doc stars checking at 35 cause he needs to know if something is happening sooner the expected ask her to check it anyway or u will go to l&d and they will! I bet she will check it after that

Just be patient and if you want to know demand for the doctor to check your cervix you are paying her to do her job it's not like it's completely free and she's volunteering her time. Also, some women can be dilated 2 even 4 cm a month in advance with no sign of them going into labor. While other women are completely closed one day and the next are in labor. FYI you can check your own cervix at home just Google check I've heard of several women doing so. Hope this helps luck to y'all.

I feel ya. My doctor wont check my cervix until I am over due. She wont induce until 41 weeks. She keeps telling me not to leave town just in case I should go. I feel like if she checked we would have a better idea of how close I am. I am 37 weeks and ftm so I don't know to think.
