Hi I also suffer from IBS and I found it really eased from about 20 weeks. At 38 and a bit weeks I'm starting to feel a bit more uncomfortable again but not as bad as in early pregnancy. Best thing I did, as far as I can tell, is to drink gallons of water. I've never been as well-hydrated as I have been whilst pregnant and it has really helped. Also I think doing hypnobirthing tracks as really helped me, as my IBS is very much stress-related.
Hope you begin to feel more comfortable soon.
I'm 28 weeks and have had IBS my whole life, and it has only been worse while pregnant! The only thing that helps me is eating a LOT of prunes and using witch hazel for hemorrhoids.
Oh my goodness! I hope that all of that goes away when you have your little one! At least you're 38 weeks and almost there!
Oh and I'm 38 weeks so it's literally been my whole pregnancy!
I have IBS as well... Plus at 6 weeks pregnant I was diagnosed with Hyperemesis (chronic nausea and vomiting). Both of the medications I've been on my entire pregnancy to control the illness causes constipation so I've had a horrible time using the bathroom. Per the doctor, I have to give myself an enema every 3 days (saline works the best) and there are still times when I strain and bleed. I hate it!
Thanks for your post.... don't look to bright then for us 2 :( awh well joys of being pregnant!!! Hope that it will ease of just a bit...
I have IBS and it *****! I'm only 19 weeks so I can't tell you how the rest of the pregnancy is going to go...but I haven't had the easiest time either. I was very bloated at the beginning of my pregnancy because I had to go off my meds...and all of the foods that make me flare up definitely still bother me. (TMI going to the bathroom has been a lot worse too!) I hope your symptoms decrease as you get further along! I would just stay away from what bothers you and take things like Tums or Alka Seltzer chews to deal with heartburn. Good luck!
