I have an entire journal entry dedicated to this. I went in wanting to squat but naturally I played on my back. I think it depends on the person. I felt as of my hips were being split in half so being on my feet or legs was no option for me. I wish I could've squatted though
Hey i tried on my knees with my hands on the top of the bed but my back pain was incredible so i ended up giving birth on my back but iv heard it can be harder coz the bottom of ur spine can get in the way a lil while ur lying down its honestly wat ever is the most comfortable for u and wat ever is putting the least strain on the baby
I delivered on my knees with my arms resting on my husband's shoulders.
I birthed on hands and knees. It was the only thing my body would allow me to do. I wanted to get up, to walk, to squat, to bounce on the birthing ball, even to lay down on my side and relax for a minute between contractions now and then but I just couldn't do anything but stay where I was. It worked out great, honestly! No tearing or damage even with a small frame and a 9lb baby. If I'd tried to deliver on my back there's no way he would have squished his way through without a tear or an episiotomy - the nurses and my midwife all told me so. Any other position besides laying on your back allows your pelvis to open up more and lets gravity help you deliver rather than trying to push baby uphill over the sacrum.
My sister gave birth on her hands and knees
I gave birth on my back when in labour you will try any position which is comfortable for you, first time that was the position for me as will you do.
