long drive during third trimester?

My family is planning to go on a trip on the first week of August. It'll be a 2 and a half hours drive. I'll be 37 weeks along by then. Would it be still safe for me to go?

You'll be fine to travel as long as it's not too long... I traveled 3 hrs away at around 37 weeks and I didn't think twice about it...

That's funny, because I just asked my Dr the same question Thu and she said it was fine. I'm 37 weeks 1cm dilated and 60% effaced and she told me it wouldn't be a problem as long as I'm feeling ok to go. I'd still ask your Dr just to be safe.

This is a topic to discuss with your doctor.

It comes down to how healthy your pregnancy has been and whether or not doctor thinks you are stable enough to travel any distance. Most say 37 weeks is considered full term....if your doctor agrees with that they may not let you travel at all!

It would be safe but uncomfortable!  Sitting that long makes my stomach so painful. But make sure you bring everything with you that you would need if you went into labor. Dont forget your insurance cards and paperwork and make sure you know where the local hospitals are. Your close to being due so if you went into labor on the trip make sure your ok mentally with delivering with a doctor you don't know in a hospital you also don't know.
