contractions and passing mucus plug

I started passing my mucus plug a couple of days ago.  However, I have been having contractions and backpain.  Should I head to the hospital or wait it out? I have already started dilating   as of April 1.

I lost mine at 7 am this morning but my contractions have been strong yet bare able started at 15-20 apart lost more plug at 7pm and they are stronger still somewhat bare able (still hurt really bad) but they are 6-7 minutes apart. My doc told me to come in when they are 3-5 minutes apart and last more then a minute

You should definitely call your doctor. It sounds like you are well on your way. I was 3cm dilated for two weeks, passed my mucus plug and then had my son a hour and a half later. You should go to the hospital if you have 6 or more contractions a hour my OB said.
