Advice on most important baby items

I'm so overwhelmed looking at all of these baby lists for everything and was hoping some of you could suggest some items you think are most important and what you like the most. Also wondering how you all told your boyfriend/husband you were pregnant and if you were nervous or scared about it.

I was rowing with my boyfriend and he said that I must be due because my hormones playing up and I said to him that I don't think so because I'm late. We done the test together and could not believe it. Now it's funny when I think about it.
Don't forget about stuff for yourself like maternity pads and breast pads and if you breastfeeding a nipple cream.

we were trying for baby so he was waiting for results with me...then said, lets get another one to make sure, he was in shock!
we really liked our swing (though they kinda freaked us out cause they go so fast!!) we also loved our vibrating chair. later on a bouncer play area is awesome. good diaper rash cream and teething supplies. burp cloths, nail clippers, tiny people hair brush, a baby tub, baby toiletries, baby shampoo.
a lot of this stuff you can slowly collect as you need it. so try not to stress yourself out. also, if you are a ftm you may be gifted a lot of these supplies. our swing was a gift. the great rash cream we got was from the hospital gift bag. it all finds its way to you so don't put too much pressure on yourself to get it all at once.
cloth diapers are awesome!!!! we are excited to be reusing ours and its so nice to have free diapering this time around! we used store bought at first cause little one was so little and didn't fit the cloth ones yet, but otherwise they were well worth the purchase...especially if you plan on having more than one child.
best of luck, have fun shopping and enjoy. : )

He knew before I did and told me to wait til I actually missed my period before testing. Finally couldn't wait any longer when I was carsick and realized on a 3 hour ride that I was 2 days late.  As for that list, I'm clueless as a Ftm. Will be watching this post as well.

I told my soon to be ex husband by leaving my pregnancy test on the front seat of his truck and asked him to go buy some extra candy for the trick or treaters.... he came back crying. As far as things for baby. Every thing listed in above post and a crib. Water proof mattress covers. Sheets. Blankets. Breast pump.... diapers and a lot more diapers.. ( cloth diapers are awesome and cheaper ).. all I can think of right now

I was nervous, especially we weren't trying then. But don't be scared just let it out. And for baby you deff need car seat stroller. Tons of sleepers they are the best. Hats socks, receiving blankets. Snow suit, glider is cool item it's like a.p swing but on floor it moves side to side front to back and plays songs, playpen. Bassinet/crib, bottles and bottle sterilizes, pacifiers, the list just goes on
