am I wrong to put my foot down & say no CSection? ?

I scheduled my CSection only because he was breech.  Now that he has turned they are still pushing for a CSection if I dont deliver by monday. But on Monday ill only be 39 weeks.  I told them I don't want a CSection!  I want a VBAC even if I have to drive more than an hour to the city! I feel bad for saying no but I dont want surgery!

I've had 3 different doctors this pregnancy 2 high risk and they both told me they won't push for a c section unless mom and baby are in distress. They also said alot of doctors push for c sections is because it's more money for them. I would make the doctor drive.

My doctor will have to drive up to the city too. Which he's done before.  I've had three VBACs with the same doctor in the same big city hospital.  Even if he couldn't be there for the delivery I would still prefer that compared to surgery. I've had a CSection before and I wouldn't mind another one IF there was a good reason. Which currently is none.

Some drs areonly contracted to deliver at certain hospitals....does your dr deliver at the one in the city too or are you open to any dr as long as you get your vbac?

I've had a c section before and it's really not that bad. I also want to have a vbac this time around as well, so I'm with ya. If you feel your and your baby's health is not at risk then you should be able to deliver which ever way you want to deliver. The only bad thing is the drive you have to make but in the end it will be worth the experience of natural birth ( if you haven't had one already) and hold your bundle of joy. Luckily my hospital offers both types of delivery only bad thing is its a military hospital and the c section rooms are so small and the other rooms you have to share after delivery.  No privacy at all. Good luck and keep putting your foot down and don't let your doctor convince you of a c section.

I freakin HATE doctors at this point...i have about 15 pregnant friends and so many of tgem feel like they need sections because of these atupid selfish doctors. Im having a natural birth at a birth center with midwives. You deserve your vbac and dont let anyone tell you different!!!

Im with ya! They hand out c sections like breath mints! Why?
You will rock that vbac! I had 1 c section and 1 vbac and this is the tie breaker. I dont blame you even a little for wanting a vbac and avoiding surgery!
I had to drive a half hour for my vbac last time. The hospital right next to my house was in some trouble and had their entire ob unit removed. Children couldnt even stay overnight! So now this tim. I live right next to the hospital I had to drive to last time haha, things work out!

You'll do this no problem. They have to understand your position!

Thank you all! I've had a CSection many many years ago. And it's policy at our small hospital.  But I'd have to drive to the city which is an hour and a half away. I'd rather do that! When I told the nurse she said my doctor would give me a call. I really hope he doesn't try to talk me into it. I've made up my mind. If the baby is ok and I'm not high risk id rather drive to the city.

Mine will do vbac for some but since they are a smaller hospital they are set up like a big hospital. So if they turn me down my next bet is 45 miles away (I go 30 miles now so another 15 won't matter) by they are set up for vbacs!

Check with the hospital, by law there are some hospitals that won't allow vbac if so you might not have a choice. I know that's how are hospital ia.

I won't have a csection unless the health of the baby or myself is compromised. I don't want to undergo the extra stress to the body. My little guy finally turned the right way, so now the only concern is his size.

Same here !!!! I donot want surgery what so ever but they are pushing and pushing the issue. I will also put my foot down, I see no reason as to why I must get a csection? My baby isn't in any harms way. Good Luck to you

Its your choice and they should be able to reach in and turn the baby, I have heard it is unpleasant but nothing like surgery.

I agree. Your body, your baby, your choice. They need to slow down with the csections. In your case, there is no reason at all now! You make the choice!

It is absolutely your right to have a vbac if you want! Don't let anyone force you into a section!

It should be your decision , & long as your not at risk with breech baby they should respect your decision .
Good luck
