My cycles are irregular so I would never use LMP.  My due date based on LMP is over a week earlier than my actual due date based on both ovulation date and scan dates.
They use LMP because most women have a 28 day cycle and ovulate on day 14 of their cycle. However, if you don't have a regular cycle, you shouldn't use LMP because you did not ovulate on day 14. (Since your scan date was 6 days later, I'd guess you ovulated on day 20 and your next period was due on day 34).
I would definitely go on scan date if I were you.  If you think the scan was wrong, talk to your doc and explain yourself... they will change it if necessary.

Scan is always the most accurate. You can only go by lmp if you have a regular 28 day cycle and always ovulate at the same time. Most women don't, so.scan is the best way to.go

Go with what the doc says. Scans are more accurate. Really, it depends on when you ovulated, not when your lmp was.  Most women don't know the exact time of ovulation/conception. Scans will measure the baby and give you the most accurate due date.

By your scan- I was told the first scan is the most accurate and thats what to go by. Although I don't think it matters either way it may just be out a week or so by your lmp.

They usually go with the EDD on your ultrasound scan. According to my lmp my due date would be 18.11.2014 and I was so sure the dates were correct when I did my ultrasound my due date was 28.11 14 10 days difference.  I guess the baby will come when its ready that date is not 100% correct.

Lmp is more accurate than scan if u know your exact date, scans are a guide. My scan dates change every time i hav a scan ive had 4 so far and all dates are within a week of my lmp so not that diff really. My midwife told me to stick with my
Lmp date.

I'd go with whatever your doctor has in your chart. They are the ones deciding if you're late and need to be induced, or when to start certain testing, so their date is the best to go with. I'd ask what they have in your file.
