maternity leave.

I'm currently 32 weeks and 3 days. I work at a full time job at Petsmart, walking the floor, bagging fish and washing tanks, stocking or facing..etc. My question is this, when did you ladies take maternity leave? I can barely function at work, I'm in horrible pain with my back and hips, and I'm constantly tired from walking around constantly for 9 hours every day. I want to save my leave for when I have the baby but I need rest badly.. Is there anything I can do?

I work at walmart and I am having the same issues. I'm 35wks 5days. My doc told me that I should wait until the day before I have baby just because of the limited time they give. I think I might just take it a lil earlier though

I don't have a very good Dr -__- she doesn't really help me but I don't want to switch because the hospital itself is amazing. But can I ask for bed rest anyway and see if she'll give it to me? Or is that something only they can decide

I worked til baby came. But ever since I was 21 I had an office job. I have bilateral club feet so I can't do a job on my feet for long. But my Dr always told me she would write me for as much time off as I needed. Do you have disability insurance so money wouldn't be an issue? talk to your Dr also, if a job becomes unbareable that's no good.

If your job is getting harder and harder for you to do than you should talk to your doctor. I tried to work up until I have birth but it was taking a toll on me and my feet swelled up so bad my doctor took me or and put me on bed rest. I still get 100% of my pay.  Talk To your doctor and if they tale you out talk to human resources and ask what percentage of pay you will get.

Have you considered just cutting hours if they would let you. I'm only 28 wks but having issues so I had to go from full time to only 4 hours a day 4 days a week.
