a bit upset this morning

So yesterday I went to the Dr and had my membranes stripped around 1145am. It's now almost 7 am the next day and nothing happened. I'm 4cm and I guess I just don't get why it didn't work. I tried bouncing on the yoga ball, which only has my hip sore this morning, I even did nipple stimulation and nothing. I'm now 39 weeks and I guess this baby just doesn't want to come out yet :(

With my last kid, I was dilated to a 3. Doc told me that since I was already dilated so much, there wasn't any membrane to sweep. Maybe that was the case here too?

I had two sweeps within a week but I was already overdue so that's possibly why it worked.  Your baby will come when they are ready.

So since my last post, I've been contracting lol still not at a regular pace but the feel different. I feel something different inside my lady parts and when I went to the bathroom, I noticed some mucus. I believe this may be my mucus plug starting to come out but not sure. Maybe I will have this baby after all :) but if not, I all over being upset. He will come when he's ready

I had mine done a week ago cause I didn't want to be induced and hoping it would work but nope. Still being induced tomorrow morning.

Make your own decisions about your baby, unless he's at risk or there's an issue, let nature take its course.

I know he will come when he's ready. It's just upsetting cause I stopped working and I could still be working. I go crazy sitting home by myself. The sweep was very uncomfortable, it was quick but I didn't know what to expect so I was scared. I was induced with 2 of my other kids.  I had pitocin with both and it made contractions pretty intense so I ended up with epidurals. My dr suggests what he feels he should do and we talk about it and I usually go with his suggestions. I trust him, he's been my Dr for 20 years

Did it hurt when they stripped your membranes? When they tried to induce you did you have a choice in what yoh wanted and how they went about it or did the doctor make all of the decisions?

They often do not work and are repeated. Do some walking if you would really like to speed things along a bit. But baby will certainly let you know when they are ready :)

Membrane sweeps don't put everyone into labor, it COULD bring on labor but everybody is different. I had one at 40 weeks and had my daughter at 41 weeks. Your body knows when it's ready

You still have time mama. I had my first at 40 weeks 2 days and my second at 41 weeks 1 day without any intervention You really don't need membrane sweeps and all that. Your baby will come:)
