I am 23 weeks and lately have been feeling pain down in front not like in side but just where the pubic bone is.  Is this common or maybe a sign of a uti?

Sounds like PGP and SPD..i have the same thing and it gets worse the further along in pregnancy you get. Speak to your midwife and get her to refer you to physio. Ive had it since i was around 23 weeks and im 38 weeks on monday, i cant even walk properly or get up/sit down or even turn over in bed anymore because of the pain. Im being induced 2 days before my due date which is better than nothing but still not as soon as i would like :(. I hope your pain isnt as bad and your physio/midwife can help you out.

It's called pelvic girdle pain (PGP) and completely normal. It can happen/begin at any point in pregnancy, but most commonly starts in the second trimester. It's just ligaments and joints loosening up, caused by a hormone called relaxin. There's some good info on it on babycenter.com if you google "pelvic girdle pain".

Could be due to the fact during pregnancy the body releases a hormone that causes your ligaments and things to loosen in preparation for baby. Possible that it could be from your pelvis widening. I feel sore in that area on some occassions too.
