post partum

I'm currently 30 Weeks pregnant with my second son, I was diagnosed with post partum after my first child (he's 22 months now) I know it hasn't gone away in fact I think it may be worse. Have any of you mommies gone through this? If so what advice do you have? I'm nervous bout pills and the side effects but I really want to take care of this asap its effecting my husband and first son and don't want it to effect the new baby

@Miss_Golightly yes, not too many people know about encapsulation as it's a relatively new concept in our society today but is very common in other cultures. You are supposed to be able to get aprox 200 pills out of your placenta depending on how big it is and stored in the freezer they are good thru menopause! And can be taken even then to regulate hormone levels for hot flashes, etc. They can also be taken during your period for PMS symptoms. Also boosts energy, combats stress, stimulates immune system, replenishes iron deficiency and anemia, and helps with bleeding/recovery time after baby among a few other things including PPD so I am excited to try it and figure it will only benefit me and baby :)

Hey girl! Just wanted to drop a note to say i think you are a very brave woman for admitting you need a little extra help right now! That is too bad your family isn't understanding or supporting your decision right now. It will get better you will learn new coping mechanisms and ways to handle that better. Don't let it discourage YOUR path to being well. Do it for you sweetheart and your hubby and son will be grateful for it :-) I understand the fear of drugs, but they do have a real purpose and can get you back on track. All in all its your decision if you feel its the right thing for you. (But @Christina's idea sounds very neat totally going to, research that myself thanks for the tip. X)

I suffered through post partum depression with my 1st child. It was extremely difficult. I've also read and have been told that if you've gone thru depression and/or PPD that you ate predisposed to have it again which really concerned me. I started researching "placenta encapsulation" and I am going for it! I've read wonderful and amazing stories and even have takes to people who gave had amazing experiences with it. I REFUSE TO POP PILLS and I'm going for the natural way this time. I even found a lady who is a certified encapusulator in my area. She comes to your house and does it after the baby is born for $200. Good luck to you but I've been there and after doing a lot of research I'm going for encapsulation. I'm excited and think it will help not only to prevent PPD but energy and hormone levels, milk supply, among other things. I suggest looking into it :)

I have an appointment with a counselor on wed just kinda nervous about it. my while family has the mentality where you don't need a counselor so its hard to tall to them about it, and my husband hasn't been through it before. I've always been nervous about anti depressants but now its to the point where I have more bad days then good, and its starting to effect my husband and son so I might have to suck it up and try some out.

I agree talk with your Dr. There are some meds that have been researched and are safe for use during pregnancy.
