Im 37 weeks i have ate sushi my whole pregnancy. Just make sure you chose the fully cooked sushi. Now dont get me wrong i have had some, very little uncooked tuna rolls but you really have to know your sushi joint. And know how fresh it is. If you dont feel comfortable dont eat it.

Rice can also harbour bacteria once it's been sitting around for a while so make sure it's fresh too, then it will be a-ok!

You can eat raw sushi, just make sure it's from a reputable place. The consent is bacteria, but you would get sick of you were pregnant or not so just be smart.

I eat sushi ALL the time. I have a place where I go religiously they are fresh with a very high turnover and they are so good if they are really out of what I want they will make a roll on the spot. I think it's ok as long *** you know the place/ higene etc...you also arent meant to eat cheesecake or delimeats either but I do. The only thing I stay away from is shellfish...everything else in moderation I say. I'm on number 4 and haven't had any problems food wise yet.

The issue with raw sushi is potential harm if there is bacteria pregnant (cooking would kill that off).  If you eat raw sushi when not pregnant and has bacteria, you would be sick but recover.  If you are pregnant, there are more implications for the pregnancy.  So, my doctor recommends no raw anything including fish.  good luck

I have been eating California rolls throughout my pregnancy  everything that's in it is cooked and safe to eat.  Sushi was one of my cravings  in the beginning of pregnancy.  You can eat sushi as long as you know what is cooked and what is not in each roll that way you know what is safe to eat.

Gas station sushi is bad. Sushi for a reputable place is reasonably safe.

Sushi is pretty decent nutritionally, especially compared to other fast food :) but it carries a tiny risk of Listeria, which is a type of bacteria that leads to food poisoning that can harm a growing foetus. Which is why it's officially off limits to pregnant women.

I can't eat gluten, and if I'm out, my only lunch choice is often sushi, salad or hot chips. Salad and sushi bars carry a Listeria risk, but I take the risk and eat at places I know are made fresh/have a high turnover, as in the long run I feel like this is better for my baby and body than hot chips all the time.

Nowadays I'm too fatigued to go out so I don't have to worry about it anymore :/

You have to know your sushi place. Nowadays they recomend etating sushi because studies show that the benefits from the nutritions outweighs the cons of mercury and other stuff. Usually they do not serve bad fish at sushi places so you wouldn't get food poisoning from eating it raw. It's more about where the fish is caught and what kinds (and how much) of heavy metals it contains from its lifetime. I eat sashimi and other raw sushi as well as the fried/cooked or vegetarian ones.

Not all sushi is raw. Sushi is okay at least once a week, nothing raw obviously. I'd stick to fried sushi if possible. As long as the fish is cooked you're good
