is it common...

Is it common to have more cramping and such after the doctor checks your cervix? I've been having quite a bit of cramping since a few hours after my appt yesterday. It got worse at night and decided I would try to rest incase the big arrival was going to happen. Well I woke up this morning and my cramping is less but still there. Just curious if its common after appointments. Thanks!
