question on 14.1 week ultrasound.

Ok so went in today and baby looks great ;). I'm 128lbs and baby's legs were spread wide open. Dr was looking for gender but said he can't determine.  I have 4 boys and they were all very obvious at 12-14 weeks. So I'm hoping girl. My question is with legs spread wide open and a clear shot shouldn't a boy have been pretty noticeable.

He's the one who offered to do a gender check. And dates put me at 14.1 weeks and yes I know it's pretty early i was just hoping it leans more towards girl since my 4 boys were like yep that's a boy.

here they won't tell you until 18-20 wks so he was probably just being cautious.

Not necessarily.  Confirming a girl means more than just lack of boy parts. They're also looking for labia or a hamburger like pic. And if your date is off at all, boy parts could be too underdeveloped to show. So a big maybe!

The doctor probably just doesn't want to get your hopes up since the gender isn't completely obvious until a little further on always.  Things may not be developed fully..
